Weighed down by my regrets
I slowly sink beneath the surface
drowning in what could have been
drowning in my past

As I drift towards the icy river bed
My hands grasp up above
Reaching for the oxygen
To fill my blackened lungs

But my frozen fingers
Struggle to break the tides
Fixed in their frosty state
Unable to break the former bonds
of past loves
We are forever lost,
lost in time.

Weighed down by my regrets

I slowly sink beneath the surface

drowning in what could have been

drowning in my past

As I drift towards the icy river bed

My hands grasp up above

Reaching for the oxygen

To fill my blackened lungs

But my frozen fingers

Struggle to break the tides

Fixed in their frosty state

Unable to break the former bonds

of past loves

We are forever lost,

lost in time.
